My name is Nalany Guerrier and I am currently a fellow with the BGCB Ready To Work Program, working with Artists For Humanity this summer.

Since I began working with AFH, it occurred to me that I needed to be more proactive in committing to self-care. So I decided to invest in working out! However, I will admit that this self-care option was an initial challenge. I struggled with finding the motivation to get up and physically put my body to work. But, as I mentally prepared myself to this idea for a week, I soon decided to get up and do it! Now, I work out for nearly 30 minutes every morning with different apps and video tutorials. As a result of my commitment, I’m already seeing results! My next investment will be to remove sweets from my diet completely. But, I am still trying to mentally prepare myself for that too! I encourage you to try a self-care tip this summer and witness its results — plus, you have all the time in the world to commit to something new, now that we’re all at home.
